Las micro y pequeñas empresas (mypes) en el municipio de Compostela son de vital importancia para el desarrollo local en cuanto a economía y a su contribución al sustento de las familias que habitan el municipio. Para el cumplimiento de los objetivos de las mypes se requiere que sus directores sean personas competentes, con habilidades directivas. Para esta investigación se tienen como objetivos la determinación del perfil general del nivel de percepción de competencia de habilidades del director de las mypes del municipio de Compostela e identificar la influencia de las habilidades en la percepción del director sobre la capacitación. Se realizó un muestreo probabilístico aleatorio simple en las mypes del municipio con un rango de trabajadores entre 2 y 50, buscando 95% de confianza y 5% de error y una probabilidad estimada de p=0.5 (50%). Se aplicaron un total de 481 encuestas del 3 de marzo al 22 de julio de 2022. La actividad principal de las mypes del municipio con un 78.8% del total de la muestra fueron de comercio al mayoreo y al menudeo. Se utilizaron tres partes del instrumento y las variables que se estudiaron son: solución de problemas, manejo de conflictos, comunicación, coaching y retroalimentación, motivación, delegar, trabajo en equipo, liderazgo y capacitación. Se consideran significativas 4 de variables analizadas: comunicación, coaching y retroalimentación, motivación y liderazgo; mientras que las variables solución de problemas, manejo de conflictos, delegar y trabajo en equipo no mostraron efecto significativo en la tendencia hacia la promoción de la capacitación.
