En una carta al editor reciente el Comité de Ética propone indagar en los ingresantes a residencias su objeción de conciencia (OC). El Instituto Universitario desarrolla hace años líneas de acción para evitar cualquier discriminación en el proceso de ingreso, indagar sobre OC podría impactar sobre quien entrevista, resultando inapropiada.
Objetivo: El objetivo es realizar un análisis sobre el sistema de residencias en Salud de la Nación Argentina desde la Teoría de la Complejidad, a fin de lograr mejorar la comprensión de la realidad de este sistema, permitiendo realizar un análisis desde otra perspectiva distinta a la tradicional.
Fuente y síntesis de datos: En esta revisión se analizan las propiedades y las características del sistema de residencias según el nuevo paradigma de la Ciencia de la Complejidad. Para quienes toman decisiones de la formación residencial de profesionales jóvenes, el conocimiento pleno del sistema de manera holística y la reflexión de las características de un sistema abierto aplicado al sistema residencial tiene gran importancia y, desprende (o puede desprender) grandes beneficios y posibles mejoras para quienes viven el día a día de estos programas de formación.
Conclusiones: Es importante mencionar el beneficio último que tiene o puede tener el conocimiento del sistema de estudio aquí analizado: la posibilidad de la multidisciplinariedad, como un paso más en la evolución de este tipo de sistemas.
background and Objective: Residents education has been affected worldwide by changes brought about at both educational and healthcare system levels. Programs in anesthesiology have been impacted by changes in health services and the need for social isolation. This paper is aimed at describing changes in anesthesiology residencies resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic Material and Methods: An anonymous survey was conducted in order to explore anesthesiology residents' perception in the Republic of Argentina re. changes and adaptations in study programs and their emotional impact. Results: 427 out of 810 residents (52.7% answering rate) from all over the country answered the survey. 14% caught COVID-19 and around half of them had to self-isolate. 78.2% of residents reported their studies were affected during the pandemia, 79% agreed on a decrease in the number of procedures, 72.1% in scheduled rotations, and 67.4% in attending classes. Residents consistently stated increased stress, episodes of anxiety, sadness and depression as well as sleep disorders or difficulties. No reference was made to an increase in the intake of alcohol or other substances. Conclusion: The development of anesthesiology learning programs as well as personal lives of residents have been negatively affected by the pandemia.
