The informant is Mrs. Tiyoko NAKAMURA, born in 1906, near Siska,in southeastern Sakhalin, the daughter of a Tungus father (Sandan tribe) and a Gilyak mother, and the widow of a Gilyak fisherman. She has used Gilyak as her normal language of communication untill947, when she came to Japan. She is illiterate and also speaks Orok (since early childhood) and Japanese (since about the age of 10).
