Abstract. The effect of the microstructure and mechanical properties locally made arc-melting to identify the phases present in the samples. The micr samples was characterized using scanning electron microscop energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). Compression tests were carried out at room temperature using show that the Ti-48Al alloy exhibited addition of Cr a nearly lamellar microstructure was observed in Ti with the addition of both Cr and Mo values increased slightly the alloying elements. The presence of Cr in Ti increase in compressive fracture strain. produced a higher yield strength and fracture str to the other as-cast TiAl alloys. alloys, mixed brittle transgranular and interlamellar fracture modes were predominantly observed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
