This review article gives an insight into recent developments in chelating agents modified nanostructures in metal extraction and catalysis. The ability of functionalization by anchoring specific functional groups on the surface of nanostructures makes it possible to synthesize different types of desired chelated nanostructures for their use as catalysts and metal ion scavengers. Keeping these aspects in outlook this review emphasizes mainly on the synthesis of chelating agent functionalized nanostructures and their applications in the field of metal ion extraction and catalysis. The review article provides comprehensive information about the work that has been done in the past 5 years in the field of metal ion extraction and catalysis using chelating agent modified nanoparticles.
In this paper, two improved closed form expressions are presented, namely, conductor loss and dielectric loss. The improved conductor loss closed form expression is perturbation-based model approach suggested by Holloway & Kuester. This model takes into account the frequency-dependent nature of conductivity of thin film conductor and effect of strip thickness. The model of dielectric loss takes into account frequency-dependent loss tangent and effective relative permittivity of dielectric. A comparison of the present models with the experimental results is also presented for the frequency range from 100 to 1000 GHz. Deviations of the models suggested from experimental results are also tabulated. Average deviation and maximum deviation for conductor loss are 9.26 and 11.56, respectively. Also, average deviation and maximum deviation for dielectric loss are 4.89 and 6.67, respectively.
Abstract-In this paper, we reformulate the quasi-static spectral domain analysis (SDA) applicable to a lossy anisotropic multilayer asymmetric coplanar waveguide (ACPW). The SDA formulation also incorporates two-layer model of a conductor thickness and the concept of effective permeability to account for the low frequency dispersion due to the magnetic field penetration in an imperfect conductor. The paper further presents the single layer reduction (SLR) formulation and circuit model to compute frequency dependent line parameters of a lossy anisotropic multilayer ACPW. The accuracy of formulation is comparable to that of the HFSS and CST, without using complex and time consuming full-wave methods. The results of CST for ε eff , Z 0 , α d , α c of multilayer ACPW, in the frequency range 1 GHz-100 GHz, deviate from results of HFSS up to 0.49%, 1.53%, 2.06% and 10.73% respectively; whereas corresponding deviations of the present SDA and SLR combined formulation are up to 1.38%, 2.09%, 3.57% and 8.87%.
Background: Medical management is the safer, effective and more convenient method for the management of missed abortion. Owing to the risk and complications, medical management is offered to all the women presenting with missed abortions. Yet after all possible efforts a large number of patients land up into surgical evacuation. This study is conducted for the in-depth analysis of the patient's presenting complaints and their risk factors to establish the correlation of these factors with failed medical abortion. This would help in the establishment of easily identifiable subgroups for whom medical management would be a success. Methods: This is a prospective observational study conducted at St. Stephen’s hospital Delhi during September 2019-June 2020. 55 women with missed abortion attending the gynaecological clinic and emergency, were recruited based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. After taking informed and written consent, all cases were administered misoprostol by vaginal route for medical management. Patients were followed up for 24 hours and looked for the outcome. Results: We found that multiparity, advanced gestational age and previous caesarean deliveries were the predictors of uterine evacuation following failed medical management. Higher chances of complete abortion were seen among multiparous and among the patients who had bleeding at the time of presentation. Failure of medical management was seen in around 70% cases with more than 9 weeks gestational age. Lesser side effects are observed with 400 mcg misoprostol dosing. Conclusions: Nulliparous patients and the patients presenting with bleeding at the time of presentation had more complete abortion. Multiparity and previous caesarean delivery is associated with failed medical management. After studying the potential risk factors, every patient can be counselled about the chances of completion of medical management.
