A utilização do Paisagismo nos centros urbanos, pode ser um instrumento importante para a Gestão Ambiental, as técnicas utilizadas para a arborização urbana, jardins verticais, calçadas verdes, telhados verdes e jardins filtrantes, melhoram a qualidade ambiental aliados a estética. Através de pesquisas em documentos, entrevistas, fotos, visitas, feiras e observação é que se pode concluir neste estudo de caso, que a valorização do paisagismo está presente e a população dos centros urbanos se beneficia dos projetos de paisagismo de diversas maneiras. Nos centros urbanos é comum observarmos a cor cinza do concreto, sendo que nestes locais o paisagismo bem desenvolvido e implantado, integra as áreas e promove a vida. As áreas degradadas podem ser recuperadas por técnicas de arborização urbana e calçadas verdes. Se os espaços forem limitados, podem apresentar material verde através de uso do paisagismo em paredes e tetos. Destaca-se ainda que efluentes domésticos podem ser filtrados por raízes em jardins projetados para a situação. A participação da sociedade, tanto nos espaços públicos ou privados além de melhorar o ambiente também pode ser uma forma de ascensão social e capacitação de pessoas desempregadas. A Educação ambiental é como um passaporte para a divulgação do paisagismo como meio para a recuperação ambiental.Palavras-chave: arborização, calçada verde, jardins , telhado verde, jardim vertical, sustentabilidade ambiental.
