This study examined the combined effect of auditory and thermal factors in order to clarify the relationship between the comprehensive comfortableness and unspecific votes (impression of hot-cold, warm-cool and harmonious sensation vote). The main results are as follows; 1) The influence of the auditory factor on the comprehensive comfortableness and harmonious sensation votes tended to converge at low or high temperatures. 2) In various environmental conditions, the relationships between familiar-unfamiliar and the impression of hot-cold and warm-cool were approximately equal with the relationships between comfortable-uncomfortable and the impression of hot-cold and warm-cool. 3) The difference in the influence of auditory factor on the harmonious sensation vote varied was conspicuously depending on the degree of thermal factor stimulus.

The results showed that the slope of regression of hot-cold(unspecific scale) and the independent variable was temperature. The results showed that the slope of regression line of unspecific scale was small in comparison with specific scale in an arbitrary condition, and point of intersection of two sion line of unspecific scale was small in comparison with specific scale in an arbitrary condition, and point of intersection of two regression lines were different according to the environmental factors. The occupants' thermal sensation of the houses was investigated with the three different scales during winter. This paper discussed influence of the thermal sensation scale on the votes. The main results are as follows; 1) eighty eight percent of the occupants responded "acceptable", despite 70% of the temperature data were out of the comfort range of ASHRAE Standard55, 2) there was a difference in distribution of the votes on each thermal sensation scale, 3) the neutral temperature was 16.3°C (ET*) by one 7-point thermal sensation scale, 9.9°C (ET*) by another scale and 21.2°C (ET*) by linear thermal sensation scale.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
