Covid-19 pandemic has changed many aspects in human life worldwide. Some aspects such economy, social, politic, and education have been impacted by this pandemic. Education is one of crucial aspects that should be concerned. Learning activity has been conducting for several months not through face to face meeting but through online learning and other forms of learning. Some challenges appeared because online learning having some obstacles including in language learning activity of EFL class. This article tries to elaborates some challenges in conducting online learning in listening class at university level. The first challenge is related to the choosing of suitable technological devices, system and application used during the class. The second challenge is the packaging of material delivered so that it will be simplified but not to decrease the quality level of the material. The third challenge is the application of effective method and strategy suit to online learning in listening class. Besides the challenges which are discussed, the solution upon the challenges will be elaborated also in this article.
Abstract There are many problems faced by MSMEs due to the Covid-19 pandemic, even though MSMEs have a large enough contribution to national economic growth. Even though several types of businesses have actually experienced development, in general, MSMEs have been greatly affected. MSMEs must be able to adapt to the changes that occur, between innovating and utilizing digital marketing in running their business, especially in marketing their products. To support the digitization of MSMEs so that they are able to adapt to these changes, community service activities are carried out. This digital literacy is in a webinar format using the Zoom Meeting and Youtube Streaming application, which was attended by 147 participants, MSME owners, observers and academics from various cities in Indonesia. Activities run smoothly, with materials delivered by academics and practitioners in their fields. The participants were quite enthusiastic because the delivery was clear and interesting, so that the feedback obtained was quite satisfying, although there were still a few shortcomings. Meskipun beberapa jenis usaha benar-benar mengalami perkembangan, namun secara umum UMKM sangat terpengaruh. UMKM harus mampu beradaptasi dengan perubahan yang terjadi, antara berinovasi dan memanfaatkan digital marketing dalam menjalankan usahanya, khususnya dalam memasarkan produknya. Untuk mendukung digitalisasi UMKM agar mampu beradaptasi dengan perubahan tersebut maka dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Literasi digital ini dalam format webinar dengan menggunakan aplikasi Zoom Meeting dan Youtube Streaming yang diikuti oleh 147 peserta, pemilik UMKM, pemerhati dan akademisi dari berbagai kota di Indonesia. Kegiatan berjalan dengan lancar, dengan materi yang disampaikan oleh akademisi dan praktisi dibidangnya. Peserta cukup antusias karena penyampaiannya jelas dan menarik, sehingga feedback yang didapat cukup memuaskan walaupun masih ada beberapa kekurangan. Penelitian ini membahas tentang kesulitan yang dihadapi mahasiswa semester III dalam pemahaman mendengarkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan Kesulitan Mahasiswa Dalam Pemahaman Mendengarkan Pada Semester III Mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Universitas Muhammadiyah Kotabumi Lampung Utara Tahun Akademik 2019/2020. Penelitian ini telah dilakukan di Universitas Muhammadiyah Kotabumi Lampung Utara. Populasi penelitian ini merupakan mahasiswa semester III Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Universitas Muhammadiyah Kotabumi Lampung Utara Tahun Akademik 2019/2020. Jumlah populasi adalah 49 siswa dari dua kelas. Teknik purposive sampling digunakan untuk memilih satu kelas yang terdiri dari 24 siswa sebagai mata pelajaran dalam penelitian ini. Data dikumpulkan oleh kuesioner dan wawancara selama mendengarkan digunakan untuk mengkonfirmasi jawaban siswa. Metode kualitatif deskriptif digunakan untuk menganalisis dan menemukan solusi tentang masalah. Hasil dari menganalisis kesulitan siswa dalam pemahaman mendengarkan menunjukkan bahwa mendengarkan adalah keterampilan yang sangat sulit bagi siswa yang belajar bahasa asing. Berdasarkan data yang dikumpulkan dengan kuesioner dan wawancara ada beberapa masalah dari faktor-faktor yang dihadapi siswa ketika mereka mendengarkan. Di antaranya, kurangnya kosakata, aksen varietas dan buruknya pengetahuan tata bahasa. Peneliti mendapatkan faktor dominan menyebabkan siswa kesulitan dalam mendengarkan pemahaman dengan persentase 91,7% siswa mengatakan selalu. Faktor yang dominan adalah kategori konten teks mendengarkan dengan persentase tertinggi.
This type of research is a class action research. The purpose of this research enhances students ' critical thinking ability by application of Problem Based Learning with Audio Visual Media. Data were collected by using a sheet of observation and evaluation tests. The average percentage of critical thinking ability of students overall observation sheet on precyae 13.8% increase in cycle cycle I 69% and increased again in cycle II 96.5%. And the overall percentage on the test results the evaluation cycle I 44.8% increase in cycle II 96.6%. Thus the results showed that the application of problem based learning with audio visual media is able to enhance the critical thinking ability of students.
