Background: Current treatment of fixed orthodontic currently used by many, not only for orthodontic treatment but also part of a modern lifestyle. Treatment of fixed orthodontic is treatment aimed to fix malocclusion and increase awareness of dental care, mastication function, and esthetic. Aims: This research is to acknowledge the effect of orthodontic toothbrush, soft and flat toothbrush and zigzag from toothbrush to decrease index plaks for the fixed orthodontic user. Methods: Quasi-experimental research design and data gathering of primary, collected plaque index examination, before and after brushing with an orthodontic toothbrush, soft and flat toothbrush, and zigzag form toothbrush, using diagnose set with tooth examination formatresearch sample from six students from the Department of Dental Nursing of Poltekkes Kemenkes Jambi. Sample gathered with purposive sampling technic with the criteria of a fixed orthodontic user on upper and lower jaws. Results: The study on the effect of the orthodontic toothbrush is useful on the reduction index on fixed orthodontic users with t count value of 31.524 and significant at 0.000 (p<0.05). The uses of bristle toothbrushes are beneficial to reduce the index on orthodontic devices with a t count of 11.483 and a significant at 0.000 (p<0.05). The use of effective zig zag bristles on the loss index for fixed orthodontic users allows with a t count of 7.084 and a significance at 0.001 (p<0.05). Conclusion: The use of a better toothbrush for zigzag bristles towards cutting the plaque index in fixed orthodontic wearers. For fixed orthodontic users. To use an orthodontic toothbrush, because it is more effective against reducing the index and using the recommended brushing technique, circular modification bass.

Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) merupakan suatu sistem pengontrolan pengendalian infeksi yang terukur dengan melihat kontinuitas dan probabilitas aplikasi pengendalian infeksi di lapangan berbasiskan hasil yang dapat dipertanggungjawabkan; mencakup penilaian beberapa aspek penting pengendalian infeksi seperti kepatuhan cuci tangan, pencegahan penyebaran infeksi, manajemen kewaspadaan kontak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan metod e Infection Control Risk Assesment (ICRA) untuk mencegah infeksi silang di Klinik Jurusan Keperawatan Gigi Poltekkes Kemenkes Jambi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode pendekatan quasy expriment, dan pengumpulan data dari data primer yang diperoleh dari formulir observasi. Hasil penelitian dari analisis penerapan metode ICRA efektif terhadap peningkatan kepatuhan pencegahan dan pengendalian infeksi silang di Klinik Gigi Jurusan Keperawatan Gigi Poltekkes Kemenkes Jambi ditunjukkan dengan nilai signifikansi pada 0,000 (p < 0,05). Disarankan mahasiswa praktik dapat meningkatkan kepatuhan pencegahan dan pengendalian infeksi silang dengan metode ICRA di Klinik Gigi Jurusan Keperawatan Gigi Poltekkes Kemenkes Jambi. Keadaan rongga mulut yang tidak sehat pada anak-anak dapat menyebabkan karies pada gigi. Penyakit karies pada gigi dapat dicegah dengan peningkatan pendidikan anak melalui penyuluhan kesehatan gigi. Keberhasilan proses pendidikan tidak terlepas dari peran besar para guru, sehingga perlu melibatkan guru sebagai salah satu pemberi edukasi kesehatan. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dalam memelihara kesehatan gigi dan mulut, meningkatkan keterampilan menyikat gigi dan menilai keberhasilan menyikat gigi pada sasaran. Pengabdian masyarakat dilaksanakan di SLBN Muaro Jambi tanggal 23 April 2022 dan 14 Mei 2022 dengan jumlah sasaran langsung sebanyak 45 orang yang terdiri dari 33 orang Guru dan 12 orang kader kesehatan Desa Bukit Baling. Sasaran tidak langsung terdiri dari 102 orang siswa SLBN Muaro Jambi. Pelatihan ini meliputi penyuluhan kesehatan gigi dan mulut, praktik keterampilan menyikat gigi, dan praktik evaluasi keberhasilan menyikat gigi dengan metode ceramah, diskusi, demonstrasi dan praktik. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan kesehatan gigi dan mulut serta keterampilan menyikat gigi pada guru dan kader sebesar 93%. Hasil evaluasi keberhasilan menyikat gigi yang dilakukan pada 55 orang siswa menunjukkan sebesar 78% siswa berhasil menyikat gigi dengan baik. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan edukasi kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada guru melalui pengabdian masyarakat ini dapat meningkatkan kebersihan gigi dan mulut pada siswa berkebutuhan khusus. The condition of the oral cavity that is not healthy in children can cause dental caries. Dental caries can be prevented by increasing children's dental health education. The success of the education process cannot be separated from the great role of teachers, so it is necessary to involve teachers as one health education provider. This community service aims to increase knowledge in maintaining dental and oral health, improve tooth brushing skills and assess the success of brushing teeth on target. Community service was carried out at SLBN Muaro Jambi on 23 April 2022 and 14 May 2022 with a direct target of 45 people consisting of 33 teachers and 12 health cadres in Bukit Baling Village. The indirect target consisted of 102 SLBN Muaro Jambi students. This training includes dental and oral health education, practising brushing skills and evaluating the success of brushing teeth using lecture, discussion, demonstration and practice methods. The activity evaluation results showed an increase in knowledge of oral and dental health and tooth brushing skills for teachers and cadres by 93%. The evaluation of the success of brushing teeth on 55 students showed that 78% of students managed to brush their teeth well. The evaluation results show that improving teachers' oral and dental health education through community service can improve dental and oral hygiene for students with special needs.
Oral and dental health is important for anyone, including children with special needs. According to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, the role of parents, especially mothers, is very important in maintaining the cleanliness of their child's teeth and mouth. Especially in autistic children, caries and gingivitis are encountered, and while their behavior will cause dental care to be rather difficult. Dental caries is a dental tissue disease characterized by tissue damage, starting from the surface of the tooth extending towards the pulp. The study was to determine the relationship of knowledge and attitudes of parents with the prevalence of dental caries in autistic children in the School of Children with Special Needs of Jambi City. This study used a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling as many as 30 respondents. The measuring instruments used were questionnaires and dental caries observation sheets. Prevalence of dental caries was 77% or 23 children had caries, knowledge of parents of autistic children was 86.7% or 26 people had high criteria while those with moderate criteria were 13.3% or 4 people and attitudes in parents of autistic children were as much as 76.7% or 23 people have good criteria while those that have good criteria are 23.3% or 7 people. There is relationship between the level of knowledge of parents with the prevalence of dental caries in autistic children (p value = 0.031) and OR = 16.5 and there is relationship between attitudes of parents with the prevalence of dental caries (p value = 0.033), and OR = 8.88. There is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge of parents with the prevalence of dental caries in autistic children and there is a significant relationship between attitudes of parents with the prevalence of dental caries.
