The dielectric permittivity and the electric conductance of the a-Fe203-H20 system were measured at frequencies from 0.1 Hz to 5 MHz and at room temperature. A large dielectric dispersion found in the low-frequency region from 0.1 to IQ4 Hz shifts to higher frequencies with increasing physisorbed H20. The dielectric relaxation results from interfacial Maxwell-Wagner polarization originating in the enhanced electric conduction due to the physisorbed H20.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
