In this research, a lithium battery model was developed using Modelica standard modeling language which was implemented using Scicos graphical language programming that supports Modelica. Scicos used in this research was actually Xcos that is a variant of Scicos which is embedded in Scilab. Equivalent circuit model used in modeling the battery was Double Polarization (DP) model. DP model consists of open circuit voltage Voc, internal resistance Ri, and two parallel RC circuits. The parameters of the battery were extracted using Hybrid Power Pulse Characterization (HPPC) testing. In this experiment, the Double Polarization (DP) electrical circuit model was used to describe the lithium battery dynamic behaviour. The results of simulation of the model were validated with the experimental results. The experimental and simulated data were quite close to each other so it seems the model was acceptable to be used in simulating the system.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
