Uterine leiomyomas are a very common gynecological condition. This case report describes the author's experience pursuing definitive treatment of a 14-week-sized fibroid uterus, the associated menometrorrhagia, and bulk symptoms. Barriers still remain if women of reproductive age prefer ovarysparing hysterectomy. Laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy with contained morcellation remains a well-tolerated and low-risk option dependent on surgeon expertise and informed patient consent. Literature review reveals the psychosocial and financial burden of uterine leiomyomas may present multiple challenges, affecting the quality of life.
