The Promoting the Emergence of Advanced Knowledge (PEAK) Relational Training System is a behavior analytic assessment and curriculum that has demonstrated evidence of convergent validity with standardized measures of intelligence. Correlational data (n = 66) between PEAK preassessment total score and standardized measures of intelligence showed a statistically significant correlation with an estimate of full-scale IQ (r 2 = .768, p , .001) and raw IQ (r 2 = .927, p , .001) as tested using the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (5th ed.). Individual preassessment modules demonstrated strong and statistically significant correlations with an estimate of full-scale IQ (p , .001) and raw IQ (p , .001) with correspondence most tightly linked to the PEAK Transformation preassessment. Correlations between the four PEAK preassessments demonstrated statistically significant correlations (p , .001) indicating strong internal consistency. These results extend previous research establishing the internal consistency of the full PEAK system, the convergent validity of IQ and the PEAK preassessments, and relational abilities and intelligence more broadly.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
