The reactions of [Pt2(p-OH)2(POPh2)2(PR3)2] with (i) HBF4 or HPF6 to give the triplatinum complexes [Pt3(p3-OH)-(p-OPPh2)3(PR3)312+ ( 2) and (ii) alcohols to give the diplatinum complexes [Pt2(p-OPPh2)2(PR3)21 (4) are described; the X-ray crystal structures of (2a) and (4a) show the OPPh2 ligand is capable of spanning Pt . distances of 2.55 to 3.71 A.
Chelate-stabilised halocarbon-platinum(ii) complexes of the general type cis-and trans-[MePt(q2-Ph2PY)(ql-Ph2PY)][BF4] where Y = CH2CH2CI, o-C6H4CI or O-CH2C6H4X, X = CI, Br or I, are reported and the relative trans-influence of the halocarbon donors is discussed; the X-ray crystal structures of [MePt(q2-Ph2PCH2CH2CI)(ql-Ph2PCH2CH2CI)l[BF41 and }{~l-Ph2P(o-CsH4CI)}][BF4] have been determined.
ChemInform is a weekly Abstracting Service, delivering concise information at a glance that was extracted from about 100 leading journals. To access a ChemInform Abstract of an article which was published elsewhere, please select a “Full Text” option. The original article is trackable via the “References” option.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
