MPH ER treatment in low to moderate doses was effective and safe in the treatment of ADHD in adults. Efficacy measures were clinical and statistically significant and robustly sustained during the 24-week observation period. In this study, no clinical significant effects on blood pressure but a transient increase of the heart rate were found. The interpretation of the results is limited by the low dose-range used in this study, the high drop-out rate and placebo-response which might have affected the therapeutic effect size.
MPH-ER appears to be an efficacious treatment for emotional symptoms with ADHD. Also obsessive-compulsive symptoms and problems with self-concept were affected positively.
Extracorporeal human lymphatic organs are expected to be excellent tools in the study of human molecular and cellular bases of the immunologic balance and tissue harmony. A rational approach and process to design a device and a procedure to recreate the human lymph node environment in vitro is described with emphasis on T-cell activation. Based on this approach, a bioreactor and a process supporting self-assembly of human lymphatic tissues due to proper emulation of human architecture and homeostasis could be developed.
Internal cardioversion is effective in restoring sinus rhythm. It might be indicated in patients in whom external cardioversion had failed or in whom external cardioversion is assumed to be difficult or even contraindicated.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
