Este artigo se propõe a apresentar, de modo breve, as características epistemológicas de dois conceitos fundamentais que constituem o arcabouço teórico da Linguística Cognitiva, a saber: cognição, situando-o desde a perspectiva clássica, especificamente no paradigma gerativista de Chomsky, até o modelo ecológico, considerado extensão da perspectiva corporificada, fundamentada por Lakoff e Johnson (1980); e categorização, abordando-o desde as discussões incitadas por Aristóteles, perpassando pelas propostas de Wittgenstein (1953), Eleanor Rosch (1975) e Lakoff (1987) para, então, sugerir, a partir de uma visão geral da noção de frames trazida por Lakoff (2004) e Duque (2015), ideias que possam nos levar a pensar em um paradigma ecológico de categorização. Espera-se, ao final, incitar discussões teóricas acerca dessa possível proposta.
O presente artigo tem por intuito propor uma análise da metáfora ancorada na proposta de Lakoff e Johnson de Mente Corporificada (LAKOFF; JOHNSON, 1999). Para esse pressuposto teórico, nossa experiência com o mundo, por meio de nosso aparelho sensório-motor, possibilita-nos criar esquemas imagéticos, que são constituídos por meio da relação entre corpo e ambiente, e frames, constituídos por meio de nossas experiências em eventos culturais. Dentre os esquemas imagéticos que constituem a metáfora, o esquema LIGAÇÃO parece-nos ser imprescindível para a sua construção. Iremos propor uma análise que envolva esse constructo teórico, observando poemas e músicas, além de alguns enunciados.
Podemos dizer que Descartes fundamentou a filosofia moderna com uma proposta universal do entendimento mundano. Dissociando as experiências corpóreas de nossa matéria pensante - mente, conseguiríamos captar a verdadeira essência de tudo por meio de um pensamento racional e objetivo. A ideia de mente corporificada, traduzida aqui pelos moldes de Lakoff e Johnson (1980), quebra com a dicotomia do filósofo e com diversas outras tradições enraizadas em nossa cultura ocidental. Nosso objetivo neste artigo é o de amparar a nova proposta teórica de mente corporificada e pensar um novo modelo gramatical que evidencie a corporalidade da mente.
Este artigo analisa de forma qualitativa o modo como a pandemia da COVID-19 é descrita em três charges selecionadas através de pesquisa no buscador Google. Utilizando o cabedal teórico oriundo da Linguística Cognitiva, pretendemos compreender como o discurso a respeito da pandemia tem sido construído, enfatizando o olhar sobre algumas estruturas cognitivas, como a metáfora e o frame que alicerçam a organização conceitual das charges selecionadas. Desse modo, o frame que é enquadrado na charge é subsidiado por uma metáfora multimodal que constrói determinado efeito discursivo, como ironia, humor etc. Esse efeito de sentido permite analisarmos alguns dos aspectos que têm construído os modelos culturais, com vistas a reflexão sobre este cenário em que nos encontramos. Entender COVID-19 como uma doença viral nos permite dimensionar o processo discursivo pelo qual a pandemia tem sido compreendida.
