La pandemia del COVID-19 que afecta al planeta tierra ha tenido un desarrollo peculiar en Cuba. El objetivo de la investigación consistió en modelar mediante la metodología de la Regresión Objetiva Regresiva (ROR) un conjunto de parámetros (casos confirmados, graves, críticos y fallecidos) inherentes a la pandemia SARS CoV-2 (COVID-19), en lo que va del año 2020 en Cuba. Los parámetros analizados fueron: casos fallecidos, los graves y los críticos, así como los casos confirmados del municipio Santa Clara, provincia Villa Clara, Cuba. Se obtuvieron modelos matemáticos mediante la metodología ROR que explican el comportamiento de los mismos, dependiendo estos de 6, 4,10 y 14 días de antelación en dependencia de la variable a estudiar, lo cual posibilitó realizar pronósticos a largo plazo, permitiendo tomar medidas en los servicios clínicos, y así evitar y disminuir el número de fallecidos y complicaciones en los enfermos. Se concluye que la COVID-19 pese a ser una enfermedad nueva en el mundo puede ser seguida mediante la modelación matemática ROR, esto permite disminuir la cantidad de pacientes fallecidos, graves y críticos para un mejor manejo de la pandemia.
Los moluscos constituyen el filo animal de mayor número de especies, solo superado por los artrópodos. El objetivo de la investigación estuvo dirigido a determinar el comportamiento de las entidades angiostrongilosis y fasciolosis en la provincia Villa Clara, Cuba durante los años 2015 y 2016. Se realizaron seis muestreos por cada año (bimestral) en 329 ecosistemas fluviales de los 13 municipios que conforman la provincia. Para la colecta se emplearon, el colador de bronce corto y el colador de mango largo. El método empleado fue el de captura por unidad de esfuerzo durante 15 min sin reposición. Los moluscos vivos recolectados fueron trasladados al Laboratorio de Malacología Médica de Villa Clara, para su identificación. Se identificaron 21 especies de moluscos; de las cuales, dos se clasificaron como endémica, 12 como locales y siete como introducidas. Las familias mejor representadas y distribuidas resultaron ser Thiaridae, Lymnaeidae y Ampullariidae. Las especies más abundantes y mejor representadas fueron Tarebia granifera Lamarck, 1816, Physella acuta (Dreparnaud, 1805), Galba cubensis Pfeiffer, 1839 and Melanoides tuberculata Müller, 1774. Si tenemos en cuenta la elevada riqueza de especies de moluscos de interés sanitario existente en la provincia y los altos valores de abundancia, pues es evidente el riesgo potencial que representa para la salud humana y animal de esta provincia la existencia de especies de moluscos con potencialidades para cerrar el ciclo biológico de numerosas especies de tremátodos y nemátodos.
Los eventos hidrometeorológicos se intensifican, constituyendo los ciclones el fenómeno más destructor de los trópicosy con mayores consecuencias, tanto para las poblaciones de organismos vectores como para la salud humana. El objetivode la presente investigación consistió en describir el pronóstico realizado para el huracán Irma con un año de antelación,teniendo en cuenta la incidencia en las poblaciones de organismos vectores en la estación meteorológica de Caibarién,Villa Clara, Cuba. El estudio se realizó a partir del pronóstico de la variable presión atmosférica, con una serie de datos,desde el año 1977 al 2016, por medio de la metodología Regresión Objetiva Regresiva (ROR). Se demostró que elpronóstico realizado coincide con lo ocurrido durante el paso del huracán Irma, excepto una diferencia de tres días y seishoras, según los datos de la estación meteorológica de Caibarién. Al aumentar la presión atmosférica aumenta la densidadlarval de mosquitos. La predicción con un año y once años de antelación de la presión atmosférica trihoraria es unaherramienta importante para prever el impacto de los huracanes en nuestro territorio, así como su relación directa, conuna mayor difusión y presentación en diferentes regiones tropicales y subtropicales de entidades infecciosas de etiologíaviral y parasitaria, y la difusión, irradiación y propagación de los diferentes géneros y especies de organismos vectores, porlo que debiera ser un servicio cotidiano del grupo de predicción del tiempo en los centros meteorológicos provinciales.
El objetivo de la investigación consistió en modelar la serie de datos bimestral de moluscos, para la angiostrongilosis total en la provincia Villa Clara, Cuba en el período comprendido desde el año 2004 hasta el 2015 y pronosticar el comportamiento hasta el año 2020 de esta entidad. Se utilizaron dos metodologías: la Metodología Objetiva Regresiva (ROR) y la regresión con variables dummy, lo cual permitió la elaboración de tres modelos: (1) el de la variable climática que mayor influencia tuvo en la entidad angiostrongilosis utilizando variables dummy; (2) una modelación empleando variables Dummy para la angiostrongilosis y por último, (3) la utilización de la metodología ROR empleando como variables independientes, las predichas en los anteriores modelos. Se obtuvieron coeficientes de correlación entre el valor real y el pronóstico de R =1,0 para el modelo 1, con un error de 0,69 ºC, para el modelo 2, R=0,96 con un error de 338,02 casos, y el tercer modelo R=0,96, con un error de 324,15. La tendencia de la angiostrongilosis fue positiva, donde un aumento de temperatura media traerá aparejado un aumento de la angiostrongilosis, para el año 2020, donde deben presentarse valores superiores a los del año 2015 si se mantiene la tendencia. Se concluye que el modelo 3 es el de menores errores y mayor correlación entre valores reales y pronosticados, la tendencia es significativa al aumento para la temperatura máxima y para la angiostrongilosis.

El método empleado fue el de captura por unidad de esfuerzo durante 15 min. Los moluscos vivos recolectados fueron trasladados al Laboratorio de Malacología Médica de Villa Clara, para su identificación. Las variables climáticas que mayor incidencia tuvieron sobre la fasciolosis fueron la temperatura media regresada en un bimestre y la precipitación regresada en 4 bimestres, mientras que para la angiostrongilos fue la humedad relativa mínima; para las demás variables no se encontraron correlaciones significativas. Si tenemos en cuenta la elevada riqueza de especies de moluscos de interés sanitario existente en la provincia y la alta incidencia que tienen las varibles climáticas en la fasciolosis y angiostrongilosis, pues es evidente el riesgo potencial que representa para la salud humana y animal de esta provincia la existencia de especies de moluscos con potencialidades para cerrar el ciclo biológico de numerosas especies de tremátodos y nemátodos.
