Verginin yasal zorunluluk yoluyla ve karşılıksız olarak alınması çoğunlukla mükellefler tarafından hoş karşılanmamakta ve bu durum mükelleflerin vergiden kaçınma ile vergi kaçırma gibi istenmeyen tutum ve davranışlar sergilemesine neden olabilmektedir. Bu anlamda vergi ödeme konusunda içsel bir motivasyon olarak görülen vergi ahlakı, mükelleflerin üzerine düşen yükümlülüklerini yerine getirmede önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Van Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi’nde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin vergi ahlak düzeyini etkileyen faktörlerin neler olduğunu tespit etmektir. Tesadüfi örneklem yöntemi kullanılarak ulaşılan 284 öğrenciye online anket uygulaması yapılmış ve elde edilen veriler SPSS 22 paket programı aracılığıyla analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmada güvenilirlik analizi, bağımsız örneklem t-testi, tek yönlü ANOVA testi ve korelasyon analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre, ankete en çok katılımı sağlayanların kadın katılımcılar olduğu gözlemlenmiş ve t-testi sonuçlarına göre cinsiyet değişkeni ile vergi ahlakını etkileyen ekonomik ve sosyo-kültürel faktörler arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca vergi ahlakını etkileyen ekonomik, ahlaki ve psikolojik, sosyo-kültürel demografik, siyasi ve vergi yönetimi boyutları arasındaki ilişkiye bakıldığında ise boyutlar arasında pozitif yönlü bir ilişki olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Bu çalışma, Van ili ve Van Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi özelinde bireylerin vergi ahlakını etkileyen faktörleri araştıran ilk çalışma olması sebebiyle önem taşımaktadır. Araştırma bulguları doğrultusunda bireylere ve araştırmacılara faydalı olacağı düşünülen birtakım önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
