Replacing harmful organic solvents that caused environmental pollution with an alternative medium for the development of ideal synthetic strategies one of the primary focal points of green chemistry. Utilizing of polyethylene glycol (PEG) as a nonvolatile solvent and promotor for evaluation of safe processes has made a considerable contribution to the
reduction of pollution problems. The current review summarizes the recent well-known catalyst-free organic reaction performed in polyethylene glycol as a green and biocompatible reaction medium.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
