Introduction: Diabetes is a common disease with multiple complications that has an increasing trend and affects all aspects of the life of the patients, especially their quality of life. Therefore, considering the chronicity of diabetes and its complications, it causes a lot of material burden on the patient and a decrease in the quality of life in them. Considering that planning to increase the level of health of these patients requires studying on the barriers of their quality of life, this systematic review was conducted with the aim of determining the epidemiological approach to quality of life in diabetic patients. Materials and Methods: In this systematic review study, in order to achieve the goal of the study and to improve the accuracy of its study and its comprehension, this integrated overview study was conducted based on the Broome method. The purpose of this method was to achieve the purpose of the study and to enhance the study's thoroughness and comprehension. The method is based on three steps in the search of texts, data evaluation and data analysis. In the search phase of the texts, the studies after the retrieval were examined in terms of the criteria for entering the study in four stages. After obtaining the terms of entry into the study, the content of the study is evaluated and at the end the analysis of the data was done. Results: Several studies have been done on the quality of life of diabetic patients. One study that was conducted in this study was a study that showed a positive and significant correlation between patient's ability with all aspects of their quality of life. Also, there was a significant negative correlation between empowerment and patients age. There was a significant difference in the level of ability of patients according to gender, marital status, type of life, education and income. Conclusion: According to the results of some studies, it can be said that the level of quality of life in the majority of diabetic elderly people is moderate, and the results of this study show a high need for care in the elderly and emphasize the role of care in improving the health of diabetic elderly. It is also necessary for these patients to be covered in order to receive educational, counseling, care and support services aimed at improving quality of life. Introduction: Cancer is a disease that can have a negative impact on the quality of life of people with the disease. Empirical studies have shown that quality of life can be considered as an indicator of the quality of health care and is part of the treatment plan and measuring it in chronic illnesses will provide more information about the health and disease to the planner. Therefore, considering the importance of quality of life in cancer patients, the present study was conducted with the aim of systematically reviewing the epidemiological approach to the quality of life of cancer patients. Materials and Methods: The present study is a systematic study using the articles published in the last 20 years regarding the epidemiological approach to the quality of life of cancer patients. Searching articles in search engines, Embase, Researchgate, Sciencedirect, Google Scholar, and PubMed in Persian and English were searched for. In the first stage, 43 articles were found. Among them, 20 articles related to the topic that were published in the last 20 years were reviewed. Results: In our studies, we have been focusing on improving the quality of life of cancer patients. In one of these studies, there was a significant difference in the mean of fatigue and quality of life according to the level of hemoglobin in the blood. There was a significant negative correlation between hemoglobin level and quality of life and severity of fatigue. Conclusion: Considering the studies that have been done, several cases have led to an increase in the quality of life of cancer patients, including the significant role of religious and spiritual beliefs in improving the quality of life of cancer patients. Group therapy also reduced the anxiety and depression and increased quality of life in patients with cancer. By performing group motivational interviews, there was a significant difference in the quality of life score in patients with colon cancer with permanent stoma. Objectives: This study aims to investigate the risk factors associated with severity and death from COVID-19 through a systematic review and meta-analysis of the published documents in Iran. Methods: A systematic search was performed based on all articles indexed in Scopus, Embase, Web of Science (WOS), PubMed, and Google Scholar in English and Scientific Information Database (SID) and Iranian Research Institute for Information Science and Technology (IRA)NDOC indexes in Persian. To assess quality, we used the Newcastle Ottawa Scale. Publication bias was assessed using Egger's tests. Forest plots were used for a graphical description of the results. We used HRs, and ORs reported for the association between risk factors and COVID-19 severity and death. Results: Sixty-nine studies were included in the meta-analysis, of which 62 and 13 had assessed risk factors for death and severity, respectively. The results showed a significant association between death from COVID-19 and age, male gender, diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease (CVD), cerebrovascular disease, chronic kidney disease (CKD), Headache, and Dyspnea. We observed a significant association between increased white blood cell (WBC), decreased Lymphocyte, increased blood urea nitrogen (BUN), increased creatinine, vitamin D deficiency, and death from COVID-19. There was only a significant relationship between CVD and disease severity. Conclusion: It is recommended that the predictive risk factors of COVID-19 severity and death mentioned in this study to be used for therapeutic and health interventions, to update clinical guidelines and determine patients’ prognoses.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
