Objetivo: Este artigo visa fornecer informações quanto a epidemiologia, manifestações clínicas, variedades de desfechos clínicos, comorbidades associadas e fatores de risco para COVID-19 na população pediátrica do Mato Grosso em comparação a população adulta. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo caso-controle com dados do estado de Mato Grosso tendo como classificação final Síndrome Respiratória Aguda Grave por COVID-19, coletados no OpenDATASUS. Resultados: Foram avaliados 7090 indivíduos, sendo 359 (5,06%) participantes pediátricos, com idade entre 0 a 19 anos e 6731 (94,94%) participantes alocados no grupo adulto, com idade ≥ 20 anos. Conclusão: Comparado a população adulta, a pediátrica apresentou menor chance de desenvolvimento de SARG, tendendo a evoluir para cura e apresentando sintomas mais leves, sem acometimento do sistema respiratório.Palavras-chave: COVID-19; Síndrome Aguda Respiratória Grave (SARG); Pediatria; Fatores de risco; Mato Grosso.
