Objetivos: Avaliar o perfil nutricional, e determinar as principais alterações metabólicas em pacientes soropositivos em uso de Terapia Antirretroviral. Metodologia: Artigo de caráter descritivo e exploratório que reúne estudos de 26 publicações sobre HIV e alterações metabólicas no uso de Terapia Antirretroviral, Lipodistrofia e o perfil nutricional de indivíduos Soropositivos. A pesquisa foi feita de fevereiro a agosto de 2015, na base de dados Scientific Eletronic Library Online (SciELO) por meio da Biblioteca Virtual da Saúde. Discussão: Apesar de várias alterações metabólicas causadas pela Terapia Antirretroviral, o prognóstico do aumento e da qualidade de vida fica evidenciado com uso da Terapia Antirretroviral. Além dessas alterações metabólicas é desenvolvido também a lipodistrofia, que são desordens do tecido adiposo, caracterizadas pela alteração seletiva de gordura de várias partes do corpo. Uma das principais causas de problemas na saúde do HIV+ é a diarreia que causa desnutrição. Pela tamanha perda de nutrientes é necessária a suplementação de vitamina e minerais. Conclusão: Apesar de a Terapia Antirretroviral proporcionar o controle da doença retardando ou evitando seus efeitos letais, a grande dificuldade são os efeitos adversos que afetam a qualidade de vida dessas pessoas e a lipodistrofia que deixam essas pessoas exclusas por afetar aparência e físico do doente. Não há muitos estudos no Brasil relatando a parte de suplementação nutricional no paciente com AIDS.Palavras-chave: HIV, AIDS, lipodistrofia, alteraçôes metabólicas, dislipidemia, estado nutricional.Â
