Introdução: A Cinesiofobia é definida como medo exagerado, irrefletido que prejudica e altera a forma de execução correta de um movimento, numa tentativa de evitar dor, podendo levar a implicações clínicas significativas. Objetivo: Verificar o conhecimento dos estudantes do curso de Fisioterapia sobre Cinesiofobia e a Escala Tampa. Métodos: O estudo foi transversal descritivo. A amostra composta por 124 estudantes. Foram utilizadas a Ficha de Anamnese e Caracterização e o questionário de investigação sobre Cinesiofobia e Escala Tampa, enviados por e-mail, com link dos formulários. Resultados: Tratamento estatístico descritivo e teste qui-quadrado. Idade média 22.69 (± 5,66) anos, (13,7%) cursavam o oitavo período, (63,7%) desconheciam o termo Cinesiofobia e (97,6%) o retrataram pela palavra medo. Aqueles que conheciam, reportaram as aulas teóricas (14,9%) e práticas (11,9%). Motivo do desconhecimento, estar nos primeiros anos de graduação (15,3%). Não ouviram falar sobre a Escala Tampa (88,7%) e não a utilizaram (97,6%). Não conheciam os aspectos da Escala (92,7%), não se sentiam preparados para utilizá-la (80.6%). (92,7%) tiveram interesse em conhecer a Escala Tampa. As frases que os estudantes mais se depararam durante a graduação foram “Tenho medo de me machucar se eu fizer exercícios” (15,8%), “Tenho medo que eu possa me machucar acidentalmente” (9,9%) e “A dor me avisa quando devo parar o exercício para eu não me machucar” (9,1%). Conclusão: A maioria dos estudantes não tinha ouvido falar em Cinesiofobia e na Escala Tampa, e também não haviam utilizado. O motivo do desconhecimento foi estar nos primeiros anos de graduação.
