Summary.-Sulfated oligo and polysaccharides have proved multiples activities and among them the antiviral activity is yet intensively examinated. In sp~e of the su~ated polysaccharides have no immediate application, the comprehension of the mechanisms of action is a main strategy for the construction of specific inhibitors of the enveloped virus. The research of new sulfated polysaccharides in macroalgae, microalgae and cyanobacteria is a challenge for the future.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
