One of the learning problems that often occurs, especially in universities, is to postpone all activities related to academics or better known as academic procrastination. During the lecture process, it was found that many students were identified as conducting academic procrastination, like procrastinating on assignments from lecturers, delaying learning, etc., which would ultimately affect not only the learning outcomes, but also on student morale. One of the direct consequences of academic procrastination is the lack of honesty in working on academic assignments, which of course needs to be typically prevented. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of information services by using Role-Playing in an effort to prevent academic procrastination in college students. This study used one group pretest-posttest design. Based on the research that has been done, it was found that information services by using Role-Playing effectively in reducing academic procrastination for college students.
Academic procrastination can be defined as a person's tendency to delay activities related to academics. We can find procrastination at every level of education, especially in college. One of the causes of procrastination in students because college students have greater responsibilities and demands than before. This research analyzed the effectiveness of role playing in information services to reduce student academic procrastination by uses a quantitative methods. The type of this research is Quasi Experiment with The Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample of this study were students majoring in Curriculum and Educational Technology, with 32 students in experimental group of and 32 students in control group. The research instrument used was a Likert Scale model, then it was analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and Rasch model. The results of this study generally indicate that information services using role playing are effective to reducing academic procrastination for students
The majority of students' learning skills are at the medium level. Learning skills is one of the many skills that needto be trained and mastered by students in order to be able to have satisfactory academic results. One factor that influences learning skills is learning attitude and behavior. This study aims to examine the first year Counseling students’ learning skills condition in State University of Padang. Learning skills explored in this study are skills in reading, writing, memorizing, test taking and using technology. The population of the study is all first-year students majoring in Counseling. The sampling technique is a random sampling. The study sample is 44 students. Data were analyzed using a descriptive analysis. The results show that the majority of students' learning skills is below high category, which is 88,63%. Most of the students' learning skills need to be improved in listening, reading and test-taking skills and they have some weaknesses in learning skills in using technology, memorizing and writing.
Globalization and rapid technological developments have caused various changes that have emerged in the community, one of which is a change in the generation that is better known as the millennial generation. Millennial generation is the generation that formed due to the development of science and information technology. This causes the life of the millennial generation cannot be separated from all things related to technology and information, such as gadget. This is of course a challenge for counselors or counseling teachers, where they must also be able to keep up with the development of technology and information at this time so that they can provide guidance and counseling services that can be received by millennial generations. In fact, there was still found counseling teachers who still used the old method without any renewal in providing services to students. The lack of skills of counselors or counseling teachers in the utilization of information technology makes the implementation of services seem monotonous and boring for students. This causes the purpose of implementing the service not to be fully achieved. Therefore, counselors or counseling teachers must be able to develop counselor competencies and skills in utilizing technology and information.
