We present the temperature pro fi le and trans i ent thermal response of a 3D fi nite element model of a solar cell, to irradiation fluctuations of few seconds. The analysis demonstrates the impact of environmental variables namely, irradiation, wind speed and shading on the cell temperature. Increase in irradiation largely enhances the spatial gradients and the temporal changes of temperature i n the cell whereas i ncrease i n w i nd speed reduces the mean temperature of the cell. In addition to the existing spatial gradients, an application of partial shading further induces significant lateral temperature changes in each cell layer.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
