Resumo. A adaptação pode ser compreendida como condição essencial para a sobrevivência do indivíduo frente aos problemas que se apresentam no dia a dia. Para avaliar a eficácia adaptativa, que é o grau de adaptação do indivíduo, foi desenvolvida a Escala Diagnóstica Adaptativa Operacionalizada (EDAO). Diante da amplitude de possibilidades de uso da EDAO, o presente artigo é uma revisão sistemática das publicações referentes a esta escala no período de 2012 a 2016. As buscas foram realizadas nas bases de dados BVS-Psi, Portal Periódico Capes, PePSIC, index Psi Periódicos, SciELO, Lilacs e IBICT, utilizando as palavras-chave EDAO e Eficácia Adaptativa. Foram encontradas 120 publicações-destas, 30 foram excluídas, por estarem repetidas, 61, por não terem relação com o tema e 4, por se tratarem de trabalhos completos publicados em anais de Iniciação Científica, totalizando 25 publicações analisadas na íntegra. Quanto ao tema, a maioria (40%) aborda a dinâmica psíquica de pacientes, a evolução do processo psicoterapêutico na utilização da Psicoterapia ou Psicoterapia Breve Operacionalizada (PBO) (28%) e estudos sobre doenças crônicas (8%). Além dos estudos com a EDAO (56%), observou-se crescente utilização da versão de autorrelato (32%). Concluiu-se que a EDAO demonstra ser sensível tanto para diagnóstico quanto prognóstico, assim como para observar a evolução dos quadros clínicos após intervenção psicoterápica.
