This review, in examining both the library and education literatures, explores two challenges currently facing many higher education faculty, librarians, and administrators: how one defines both information literacy and critical thinking skills, and who should be responsible for teaching either or both of these concepts.
This article surveys position announcements for Electronic Resource Librarians that appeared in College and Research Libraries News from January 1996 through December 2001. Utilizing a blend of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, the author reviews reporting structures, responsibilities, and professional experience requirements for these positions.
