INTRODUCCIÓN Y OBJETIVOS Existe evidencia en la asociación entre el trastorno por uso de sustancias y la presencia de eventos traumáticos, no habiéndose encontrado hasta la fecha relación entre tipo específico de trauma y la sustancia consumida. Por ese motivo, el objetivo principal del presente estudio es valorar la relación entre la presencia de Trastorno por Uso de Sustancias y la presencia de eventos traumáticos de los pacientes ingresados en la Unidad de Patología Dual del Parc Hospitalari Martí i Julià. MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS Se ha realizado un estudio descriptivo con una muestra de 25 pacientes. Los datos fueron recogidos de forma retrospectiva respecto a las características sociodemográficas, clínicas, relacionadas con el uso de sustancias y sobre la presencia de eventos traumáticos. Para ello, se ha utilizado el programa estadístico SPSS representando las variables mediante el número de casos (N) y el porcentaje (%) dadas las características cualitativas de las mismas. Para valorar la asociación entre presencia de evento traumático y trastorno por uso de sustancias, se ha realizado un análisis de tipo bivariante mediante el test exacto de Fisher, representando los datos con el número total (N), porcentajes (%) y el p valor para la significación estadística. RESULTADOS Se observa una clara tendencia a la presencia de eventos traumáticos en los pacientes con trastorno por uso de sustancias independientemente del tóxico de consumo, observándose los traumas de tipo indirecto como principales. No obstante, no se ha encontrado una relación estadísticamente significativa entre el tipo de trauma y el tipo de tóxico consumido. CONCLUSIONES Debería considerarse la exploración directa de la presencia de eventos traumáticos en los pacientes con Trastorno por Uso de sustancias. Estudios de mayor tamaño muestral serían necesarios para valorar la asociación real entre el tipo de evento traumático y el tipo de tóxico de consumo.
