Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI), defined as ischemic necrosis of the heart muscle, is an important cardiovascular disease given its great epidemiological relevance in the world and in Brazil, where it represents the first cause of proportional mortality since the 1960s. 1,2 The disease results from the formation of clots or atheromatous plaques that are capable of occluding the coronary artery, reducing blood flow, and causing part of the myocardium to undergo necrosis. 3
