A inspeção visual é o primeiro parâmetro de qualidade de dois materiais, principalmente, no que se refere à madeira, que apresenta defeitos naturais, a um exemplo de madeira de Pinus . O objetivo deste estudo é avaliar a relação entre dois anes de crescimento e as características físico-mecânicas da madeira de Pinus taeda e Pinus elliottii . Foram utilizados 1.600 corpos de prova de madeira ,com dimensões, aproximadamente, de 89 × 39 × 90 [mm³]. Os corpos da prova foram fixados para melhor visualização de dois anis de crescimento e quantificados por polegada. A densidade aparente foi endossada de acordo com instrumento normativo. Para a determinação da proporção da área e espessura do lenho tardio, temos uma análise do crescimento, das faces de dois corpos do foram prova escaneados, e a proporção da área do lenho tardio / inicial quantificada por meio de um software analisador . Os corpos da prova foram separados pelo número do ânus de crescimento e sua forma de aparência no plano não transverso, totalizando cinco tratamentos. Em seguida, foram realizados testes de resistência à compressão normal às fibras por meio de quatro métodos diferentes (ABNT - F c, 90 , ISO - F c, 90, ASTM-F c, 90 , ABNT-E c, 90 ). Como resultado, uma diferença significativa foi encontrada entre a média de dois cinco tratamentos usados para resistência à compressão normal às fibras. Embora sejam necessários mais pesquisas com maior amplitude e corpos de prova com maiores dimensões, madeiras com anis de crescimento denso se mostraram mais resistentes.
