ANDOASUncertain At ca. 200 m (MHA), where Rio Bobonaza [0236S/7638 (USBGN)] meets the Rio Pastaza [0455S/7624 (USBGN)] at the Ecuador/Peru boundary, there is an Andoas whose coordinates are given by the USBGN gazetteer for Ecuador as 0234S/7638; on Mapa, 1950 this is shown as "Andoas Nuevo," but it is not indicated at all on Mapas 1957 and 1974. The USBGWN gazetteer for Peru (1955) gives the coordinates for a Peruvian Andoas as 0250S/7630; this is the locality called Santo Tomas de Andoas on Mapas 1950Mapas , 1957Mapas , and 1974 it does not appear as such in the USBGN. The MHA shows an Andoas at ca. 0215S/7650 and in the district of Andoa [Andoas ?], an area disputed by Peru and Ecuador. The MHA, an early map, is doubtless in error as to its placement of Andoas, but it does seem that there are in fact two localities on the Rio Pastaza bearing the name Andoas, viz.
Rises near Venezuela/Guyana border and flows NW to empty into southeastern Boca Grande [0838/6030 (USBGN)] at San José de Amacuro 0832/6028 (USBGN)] (MHA);
