This study addresses the importance of analyzing the water for bathing criterion, since the health and well-being may be affected if the beaches are not in proper conditions. The aim of this study was to analyze the content of the bathing beach water Caripi, by determining the microbiological indicator Escherichia coli. Furthermore, we analyzed the physicochemical conditions of the beach in question, including pH, temperature, turbidity, conductivity and dissolved oxygen. For this, first applied questionnaires to verify the perception of residents and visitors about water quality. Were collected and analyzed water samples for five consecutive Sundays, based on CONAMA Resolution 274. The results obtained from the questionnaires showed that 43% of respondents rated the quality of the beach water in regular category. With water analyzes, the results showed beach is classified as excellent for bathing condition, as presented numbers that give the pattern classification set for bathing.
