El presente trabajo se enfocó en la descripción de las tecnologías acreditadas para la producción y comercialización de madera estructural (Framing) para su uso en la construcción habitacional (Dimensión Lumber) en tres mercados productores y consumidores de esta madera; Norte América (Estados Unidos y Canadá), Europa y Australasia (Australia y Nueva Zelandia). En forma paralela se entregan antecedentes generales involucrados en la problemática de la madera estructural, con finalidad del entendimiento global.
Se diseñó una ficha con formato tipo, en el cual se indica: Fabricantes (nombre, dirección, país de origen, pagina web), Background del fabricante (historia y posición en el mercado, modelo que fabrica), contacto para consultas específicas (costos de operación y mantención, precio, representante en Chile); Descripción de la máquina según su Modelo, Fecha de Certificación, Acreditada por; Fotografía; Países donde opera; Grados estructurales; Limitaciones de operación y Principio de operación.
El presente estudio tiene como objetivo general determinar la durabilidad natural de la madera de renoval de roble sometida a la acción de dos hongos xilófagos de pudrición blanca, considerando madera de albura y duramen, de acuerdo a las categorías establecidas por Findlay (1962) y por la norma EN-350, las cuales se adecuan a las mencionadas en la norma NCh 789/1 (Maderas. Parte 1: Clasificación de maderas comerciales por su durabilidad natural).
En el presente informe se incluyen los resultados de la clasificación visual según norma chilena NCh 2150, en grados A y B, de una muestra de maderas extraídas de las regiones de La Araucanía y Los Ríos
Este trabajo determina, a partir de una muestra de madera extraída de aserraderos de la región del Maule, las tensiones admisibles de los grados visuales de las láminas A y B.
Todos los ensayos se realizaron en el Laboratorio de Madera Estructural del Instituto Forestal (LME-INFOR), que cuenta con un sistema de gestión acreditado bajo la norma ISO 17025.
La información que se entrega tiene por objetivo generar información técnica que permita la actualización de la norma NCh 2165 (INN, 1991).
Debido a la poca información existente en el país sobre el comportamiento mecánico de las viviendas y edificios de mediana altura (3-4 pisos) con estructura de madera, particularmente sobre la capacidad de los muros estructurales; el Instituto Forestal decidió realizar una serie de ensayos para caracterizar las tipologías de muros de madera, además de comenzar a generar una base de datos que permita la modificación de la norma chilena de diseño sísmico de edificios (NCh 433). .
Se exponen resultados de ensayos mecánicos de carga lateral de dos tipologías de muros con estructura de madera considerando configuraciones de muros en doble altura y doble ancho. Los muros fueron materializados según el sistema constructivo plataforma, en base a pie derechos de pino radiata y placa arriostrante OSB fijada bajo un esquema de clavado específico. .
Todos los ensayos se realizaron en el Laboratorio de Madera Estructural del Instituto Forestal (LME-INFOR), que cuenta con un sistema de gestión acreditado bajo norma NCh-ISO 17025..
