Escherichia coli. Enterobacteriaceae. higiênico-sanitária. ABSTRACTThe lettuce (Lactuca sativa L) belonging to the family Asteraceae, is a leafy vegetable most consumed in Brazil. This has low calorie and high nutritional value so it is used in various types of diets. To maintain their properties must be consumed fresh, is an important vehicle of contamination. This study aimed to evaluate the microbiological and parasitological quality of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L) sold in fairs free of the city of Sobral -CE. Four lettuce samples of curly variety were collected in three different fairs, making a total of twelve samples. The analysis were performed at the Microbiology Laboratory of the State University Valley Acaraú. Microbiological analysis was performed by determining the Most Probable Number (MPN) of total coliforms and thermotolerant through the fermentation method in multiple tube and is used for the standard plate count Technique Pour Plate and ImVic test for species identification Enterobactericeae family. The methodology used for parasitological analysis was then to wash sedimentation and centrifugation. 100% of the analyzed samples showed fecal coliform levels above those permitted by law, identified ten species of bacteria Enterobactericeae family. 91% of ...
Stable oil nanocapsules based on acetylated Sterculia striata polysaccharide (ASSP) were produced without the use of a surfactant, and derivatives of ASSP with four different degrees of substitution (DS) were synthesised. The data revealed that only derivatives with high DS were able to produce nanocapsules (NC), which exhibited monomodal size distribution profiles with a Z-average particle size,-potential, and polydispersity index (PDI) that were dependent on ASSP DS and concentration. Nanocapsules were loaded with amphotericin B (AMB) with encapsulation efficiencies (EE%) thatwere dependent on drug and ASSP concentrations and DS. A maximum EE% value of 99.2%was achieved, and the loaded AMBwas found to be in amonomeric form, evenwith a concentration one hundredfold higher than that usually observed for commercial AMB aqueous solutions. Loaded nanocapsules show an in vitro controlled release of AMB. As the monomeric AMB state decreased drug toxicity, ASSP nanocapsules loaded with AMB (NC1.68) have potential for use as a drug delivery system. AMB loaded NC 1.68 keeps its activity against 5 strains of Candida albicans tested.
-(Antimicrobial activity and therapeutic potential of the genus Lippia sensu lato (Verbenaceae)). The growing number of infectious diseases combined with the continuous increase of antimicrobial resistance of certain microorganisms justify the constant search for new drugs. Given this situation, plants are a rich source of bioactive resources of pharmacological interest. The Verbenaceae family, especially the genus Lippia L., has representatives with potential already confirmed against various pathogens; the species of Lippia are widely used in folk medicine for their anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antiseptic, anti-hypertensive, anxiolytic, anti-leishmania, antiviral, and digestive properties, among other applications. This review gathers information about the antimicrobial potential of the main species of the genus Lippia, relating to the type of extract, its constituents, and the importance of this genus in the investigation of natural products and their phytochemical and biological characteristics. Keywords: antibiotics, antifungals, phytochemical composition, natural products, tribe Lantaneae RESUMO -(Atividade antimicrobiana e potencial terapêutico do gênero Lippia sensu lato (Verbenaceae).
