O crescimento acelerado da cidade é resultante do aumento populacional, e traz como consequência o comprometimento da quantidade e qualidade de seus espaços livres e áreas verdes. Este trabalho teve como objetivo relatar a percepção de passantes em relação ao espaço público do Terminal Barra Funda, assim como sua diversidade vegetal. Para a coleta de dados, no referido espaço, foram realizadas entrevistas, com um roteiro semi-estruturado e levantamentos quanti-qualitativos da infraestrutura e vegetação existentes. O roteiro consistiu em perguntas qualitativas que foram gravadas e transcritas pela autora e perguntas quantitativas, utilizando-se assertivas e a escala likert para a obtenção de respostas. Na análise da vegetação, foram identificados 65 indivíduos, distribuídos em 7 espécies vegetais e pertencentes a 7 famílias botânicas.
