Le harcèlement scolaire est un sujet de préoccupation grandissant depuis une dizaine d’années, aux conséquences parfois désastreuses pour la santé physique et psychologique des enfants qui en sont victimes. Il existe de nombreuses approches qui tentent de remédier à ce phénomène, toutefois, elles partent toutes du même postulat : il faut intervenir à la place de l’enfant en souffrance. La grande majorité des stratégies de lutte contre le harcèlement cherchent à intervenir en toute logique entre le harceleur et sa victime pour défendre cette dernière et demander au premier de cesser l’agression. Nous montrerons dans cet article que cette manière d’agir présente des faiblesses et peut se montrer contre-productive, en toute logique interactionnelle. Nous proposerons une lecture systémique du problème qui permettra de développer une autre stratégie d’action, celle de travailler avec l’enfant ou l’adolescent harcelé afin qu’il trouve en lui les ressources nécessaires pour faire cesser l’agression. Afin de montrer l’efficacité de cette approche, nous analyserons les 79 cas qui ont été suivis dans le cadre d’une thérapie brève et stratégique selon le modèle de Palo Alto.
