RESUMO: A fala, enquanto fenômeno linguístico relevante, recebeu atenção para tratamento teórico e didático-pedagógico em sala de aula, na educação básica, mais tardiamente do que a escrita. O desprezo à fala como conteúdo curricular relevante ocorreu, provavelmente, por se acreditar que o sujeito a adquire natural e suficientemente em seu círculo social próximo. Isso denotava que os alunos recorriam à escola exclusivamente para aprender a escrever. Todavia, perspectivas curriculares inauguradas, no Brasil, em 1998, com a publicação dos Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais de Língua Portuguesa (PCN-LP), bem como a mais recente Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC), têm proposto que a oralidade seja abordada em ambiente escolar com foco em situações que exigem um tratamento sistemático. Assim, propomos que o alinhamento dos dizeres curriculares supracitados com os conceitos postulados por estudiosos do campo da linguagem pode favorecer um trabalho mais produtivo com a oralidade nas aulas de Língua Portuguesa. Em função disso, relatamos um trabalho de sala de aula realizado no interior da Paraíba, em que fizemos usos de dois gêneros modernos (o podcast e o vídeo) associados à poesia, tomando como base as considerações teóricas de Antunes (2009), Carvalho e Ferrarrezi Jr. (2018), entre outros. Objetivamos demonstrar que a fala, em contexto escolar, exige a escolha de gêneros discursivos adequados e variados, além de orientações metodológicas sistemáticas para um ensino produtivo, isso tudo devidamente correlacionado a objetivos educacionais claros, aproximando o tratamento escolar da fala ao que se efetiva com os gêneros escritos.
