A atividade física regular é um agente propulsor da saúde, quando realizada em combinações de exercícios aeróbicos e de força, promove o desenvolvimento de aspectos neuromusculares relacionados ao equilíbrio e à oxigenação, aumentando o número de mitocôndrias e facilitando a ação oxidativa muscular. Por essa razão, é eficaz em restaurar a função cardiorrespiratória e até mesmo prevenir ataques cardíacos, reduzindo o risco de patologias como infarto, em função do aumento da vascularização por meio do movimento. Dito isso, o presente estudo teve como objetivo desenvolver uma revisão narrativa, sob ponto de vista teórico dos efeitos da prática de exercícios físicos em pacientes pós-infartados, visando expor a eficácia de diferentes modalidades de exercícios na reabilitação precoce dos pacientes, agindo diretamente na capacidade funcional com aumento do consumo de oxigênio, resistência a esforços prolongados, adaptações estruturais e hemodinâmicas no sistema cardiovascular, além de reduzir a frequência cardíaca e a pressão arterial, contribuindo para o controle dos fatores de risco dos pós-infartados.
