Age of the host Aphis craccivora was found to induce the parasitoid Trioxys (Binodoxys) indicus for differential placement of the fertilized eggs into them. Most of the fertilized eggs are laid into 3rd instar of the host. First instar hosts did not support the development of the parasitoid and died after 3–5 days following parasitoid's attack.

Bionomie von Trioxys (Binodoxys) indicus Subba Rao & Sharma, ein Parasitoid von Aphis craccivora Koch. 21.
Laboratory studies were made on the effect of different host plants on the activities of T. indicus. It was observed that the leaf arrival time and host arrival time of the parasitoid decreases significantly with an increase of host density. This decreases is maximum in C. cajan bred aphids followed by D. lab‐lab and S. melongena. The antennal encounter, prickings and parasitoidisation increases significantly with an increase of host density. This increase is maximum in C. cajan followed by D. lab‐lab and S. melongena.

The main point of the present study is the isolation of pigeon pea leaf‐oil, isolated from the fresh leaves of Cajanus cajan. This oil was found to lure the parasitoid towards the source at very low concentration (0.025%) indicating that either the oil itself functions as allomones or certain active gradients are dissolved in it. The parasitoid Trioxys (Binodoxys) indicus parasitoidises the pigeon pea aphid Aphis craccivora.
