Primary osteosarcomas are one of the most common malignant bone tumours in children and adolescents. Most commonly affected bones are long bones and involvement of flat bone in a neonate is quite unusual. We present a case of primary osteosarcoma of7 th rib in a 5 month old male child.
Teratoid Wilms' tumor is a rare histological variant of the classical Wilm's tumor reported mainly in paediatric patients. To date less than 30 cases of teratoid Wilm's tumor have been reported in the literature. Wilms' tumor is the fourth most common childhood malignancy. We here report a case of a 3 month old male child having a unilateral rare Teratoid Wilms' tumor. This case is presented because of its rarity.
Congenital lobar emphysema is a very rare congenital cystic malformation of the lung that can cause acute respiratory distress early in life. This study reviews 19 cases of CLE over a period of 5 years at a Tertiary Pediatric Referral Center. The cases were studied with special emphasis on Histopathological findings of the lobectomy specimens, particularly bronchial cartilage abnormalties, radial alveolar count and their predictive value in pathogenesis of CLE. This condition can mimick other causes of respiratory distress in the neonatal period. Early diagnosis and effective surgical management is curatve.
