This article is based on the data obtained from the research conducted between male and female students studying at the Main Campus of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University or recently graduated living in Kötekli District. 583 male and female sample groups were reached in the study conducted between November 2018 and March 2019. In the research, both The Attitudes towards Dating Violence Scale and System Justification Scale which consist of 128 question in total were used to obtain the data. While the theoretical framework of the research constituted the system justification, hostile sexism and feminism theories, Feminist method considered appropriate as a methodical approach. The phenomenon of violence, which is one of the main actors in the processes of change and development in human history, is still one of the major problems in today's modern societies, and it continues to be one of the main problems in our country. Furthermore, there are many types of violence, and one of them is dating violence that includes more than one type of violence. Dating violence is one of the problems of young individuals who spend most or all of their times away from their families, especially in university environments. Also, this problem, which is sometimes not mentioned and sometimes not even aware, can have serious consequences for them. Moreover, this type of violence, mostly from men to women, can sometimes go from women to men. However, the types of violence inflicted by men are much more visible and can be much more traumatic in terms of their effects. Therefore, dating violence essentially continues its existence as a means of power and system justification. The use of the term -power‖ in research corresponds to a patriarchal meaning, and -the justification of the system‖ means justifying of the patriarchal system. In this context; system justifying theory questions the psychological and social nature of how and how individuals mediate the sustainability of the system, although the system works against individuals. In the article, it is aimed to investigate the relationship between individuals' attitudes towards dating violence, their behaviors and levels of justifying the system, and to identify the social, economic, psychological, geographical and cultural factors underlying these relations Even if some academics studied on the dating violence, but not yet reached a sufficient level in literature. According to the findings, it was found that the average scores of male individuals were higher, although there was no significant difference between male and female individuals in terms of their attitudes towards dating violence and their attitudes towards the level of justifying the system. However, these data show that male individuals tend to more justify dating violence under the influence of hostile sexist patterns. So, with this article, resulting from a field research, it is expected to contribute to the literature on dating violence in Turkey.
