Srotas are the inner transporting channels of body. Srotas are defined as the empty spaces expanded inside the entire body, which originates from empty space and different from sira and dhamani. Diet and lifestyle those are suitable to doshas and contrary to dhatus in their properties cause morbidity in srotamsi. The rasavaha srotamsi have their origin from hridaya and dash dhamanis. Etiological factors for causing rasavaha sroto dushti are intake of heavy, cold over unctuous food in excessive quantity and perform excessive mental work. Disturbed functions of agni leads to formation of under processed anna rasa which is immature called aam located in aamasaya and it exacerbates all the doshas. Samana vayu brings aam from aamasaya to the root of rasavaha srotas. From the heart vyana vayu ejects the aam along with ras simultaneously, continuously, and forcefully to the whole body. When saam ras and aggravated doshas, reaches the place where khavaigunya is present and vitiates the dushya. It is macromolecule So, unable to get into the minute Channel, gets obstructed, accumulates and gives rise to prodormal symptoms of diseases. Srotodusti is of four kinds. Atipravriti, sanga, siragranthi and vimarga gaman. If there is atipravriti, it leads to atisara, if there is sanga, it causes alasaka and grahani. If there is siragranthi, it leads to arsa and if there is vimarg gaman it causes udara roga and raktapitta.
Rasa-the fluid of life; The quantity of rasadhatu depends upon food intake. Rasa provides fluidity to circulating rakta; it is the fluid that carries dissolved nutrients. Salts and sugar are the most important among nutrients. As a result, taking nutritional fluid is the best way to replenish rasa. The rasadhatu, being made up of the element water, has similar qualities with kapha. Rasa dhatu has qualities very similar to kapha dosha, which is made up of jala and prithvi. In the formation of the dhatus, kapha is the mala (waste product) produced during formation of rasadhatu. Some of the most common and important problems arise when a person becomes sthool or krish, it is due to the rasa dhatu as well. Sthaulya and karshya in itself is due to many other diseases or we can say these diseases are the combination of many other diseases. The quality of the rasa dhatu is dependent upon the health of agni, or digestive fire. Food and liquid are initially digested in the gastro intestinal tract and, turned into ahara rasa. This fluid then further undergo metabolism by the rasagni to form rasa dhatu. The condition of agni determines the quality of rasa produced. When the rasagni is sluggish, the efficiency of transformation is reduced. When the rasagni is too active, it efficiently converts ahara rasa to rasa dhatu, but also burns up some of the rasa dhatu that is being produced. There is a highly variable fluid intake that must be carefully matched by equal output of water from the body to prevent body fluid volumes from increasing or decreasing. In this article we are intended to make a correlation of rasa dhatu with modern prospective to have a clearer view about the rasa dhatu. For which the basic materials have been collected from the Ayurvedic classics with the available commentaries, as well as text books of contemporary modern medical science have been referred for better understanding of the concept and its comparison with contemporary science.
Pain makes us conscious for the presence of the injurious agent and that is why we seek removal of the injurious agent by appropriate measures. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is corelated with aamvata in Ayurved. Rheumatoid arthritis is rare in men under the age of 45, where there is 6:1 female surplus. It’s a very painful disease which usually cause tender, swelling and inflammation in joints. Joint stiffness worse in the morning and remain for more than one hour. Chronic inflammation, granuloma formation and joint destruction is commonly seen. Fatigue, fever, weight loss, irritation and depression are also the most common non-articular symptoms. A satisfactory treatment is available in Ayurvedic medicine for this disorder. Various Ayurvedic drugs have been proved useful for these manifestations. This case report is a classic case of Rheumatoid arthritis, which was treated for six months under the name of aamvata with Ayurvedic drugs. The patient was on modern medicine and we efficaciously exchange him from conventional modern medicine to ayurvedic medicine.
The Severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is an infectious disease caused by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and has affected people's lives globally, since first case was detected in Wuhan, China in December 2019. The coronavirus pandemic has turned the world’s attention to the immune system, the body’s defense mechanism against disease. Concept of Ojas is well explained in all ayurvedic classics, in modern perspective it is considered as immunity (Vyadhikshamatava). Ojas is necessary for well-being of the body, and mind. In Ayurveda textbook, the epidemics and along with their management are discussed under the term of Janapadodhvansa. The preventive and curative treatments for communicable diseases of the Janapadodhvansa (epidemics) are Panchkarma (five bio-purification therapies), Rasayana Chikitsa (rejuvenation treatment), Achara Rasayana (good conducts), and migrate to the place, free from communicable diseases. The intake of all types Rasayanas leads to increase of Ojas and reduce all psychological (mainly stress and emotional) disorder, thereby causes increase immunity responses and help to fight against covid-19. Key Words: Ayurveda, Covid-19, Immunity, Janapadodhvansa, Ojas, Rasayana Chikitsa.
