The present study gains importance through investigation of the damage analysis considering that most of the impact parameters have been undertaken experimentally. This work is focused on a qualitative and quantitative study of the low-velocity impact response of four different types of specimens with glass fabric reinforced plastics. The laminate specimens were fabricated according to the manufacturers' recommendations. The specimens were impacted experimentally using an instrumented impact tester with a hemispherical tip.
Polyurethane (PU)/E-glass composites with different reinforcement contents are prepared. The compression strength and hardness of these composites are evaluated. These properties are found to be enhanced by the reinforcement with glass.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
