Este trabalho foca na simulação em laboratório dos principais potenciais espontâneos observados em poços de petróleo. O potencial de junção liquida foi simulado utilizando uma caixa preenchida com areia e dividida por uma membrana porosa. De um lado, foi adicionada água salgada (simulando a zona virgem nas rochas reservatório) e do outro, fluido de perfuração (simulando a zona lavada). Na situação 1 (2), as medições foram realizadas sem (com) a adição de água salgada. Na situação 1 (2), foi medido um potencial de 0,40 ± 0,09 mV (-22,65 ± 0,31 mV) e assim, o efeito de potencial de junção liquida foi demonstrado. O potencial de membrana foi simulado utilizando uma segunda caixa preenchida com areia e água salgada na parte inferior (simulação do arenito com água de formação) e argila na parte superior (simulação do folhelho). Na situação 1 (2), os potenciais foram medidos sem (com) a adição do fluido de perfuração sobre a argila. O potencial medido para a situação 1 (2) foi de -1,91 ± 0,10 mV (0,62 ± 0,12 mV). Da comparação entre as medidas das situações 1 e 2, uma diferença de potencial positiva foi observada, ou seja, o potencial de membrana foi simulado.
