The present study deals with the impact of small scale agricultural entrepreneurship on livelihood assets rural poor women and role of NGOs to developed women living of standard. The sample of the study consisted 300 women entrepreneurs those are involvement with livestock and poultry, fisheries, and vegetables entrepreneurship. Stratified Random sampling technique was used to obtained sample size. The study used the sustainable livelihood analysis framework as an analytical tool to identify ways to advance the livelihood of small entrepreneurship. Tobit and ordered probit regression estimation were used to analyze the result. Livestock and poultry entrepreneurship is significant and positively associated with financial capital, physical and social capital, vegetables entrepreneurship is significant and positively associated with natural capital and physical capital, fisheries entrepreneurship also positive and significantly associated with human capital. Role of NGOs micro credit and institutional support has great impact on women entrepreneurs living of standard. The analysis shows how entrepreneurs can achieve sustainable livelihood through access to a range of livelihood assets. Livestock and poultry entrepreneurs potentially provide higher economic returns, physical and social benefits. However, lack of resources, vulnerability and poor institutional support are identified as constraints to long term sustainability.
The study was undertaken to determine the key factors relevant to rural women enhancing food security which have great contribution to their family and community. A sample size of 80 women was drawn from Char Ishawrdia village of Mymensingh Sadar upazila. The findings showed that most of the respondents were economically active but not well educated. It was found that the yearly average income and expenditure of the households were Tk.66656.25 and Tk.67238.75 respectively. It was also found that yearly average income of the respondents was only Tk.7600.00. Rural women of the study area were involved in harvesting crops, crop production, livestock rearing, homestead forestry and gardening, post-harvest operation, cooking, cleaning house, washing clothes and caring children. It was found that women headed households food security is affected by some socioeconomic factors. In functional analysis, the Log Linear model was fitted best. Result shows that the household food security was significantly influenced by education of respondent, family size, household income, access to credit, and social participation. Women were found highly empowered in the study area and empowered women had great contribution to ensure the household food security. With the process of empowering women, women have a chance to increase their income, to participate in decision making process, to build up their health and nutritional knowledge, control over capital and participate in social and political activities through which they can easily ensure food security. Findings of the study suggest that government should provide different types of facilities to rural women which will help them to ensure households food security. Food security exists when all people, at all times, have access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food to maintain healthy and productive lives. This study was carried out to investigate the household food security status of dairy farmer at three villages of Shahjadpur Upazila of Sirajganj District. This study was based on primary data and a semi-structured interview schedule was used for collecting data during January to March 2018. Data were collected from a random sample of 60 where the total dairy farmers were 240. Food security status of household of dairy farmer was measured on the basis of their per capita calorie consumption per day. Pearson’s Product Moment Coefficient Correlation (r) was computed to explore the relationship of the respondents selected characteristics and their food security status. It is 40% percent moderately food secured per year, 25% household had food secured per year and 35% households were low food secured per year. Dairy farmer’s Annual income, training, experience, credit received had a significant positive relationship with their household food security status. The Findings of the study would be helpful for policy makers. Government and non-government organizations work for development of tribal people; this study may help them achieve their goal. It will be helpful for the government to ensure their food security in the sense that they may be aware of the food insecure situation if the findings of the study are revealed to them Res. This study analyzed the gender role in agricultural activities with respect to the change of technologies and determine their implications for improvement of household status in Netrokona district. The study followed the simple random sampling technique to select 300 sample respondents for household survey through the semi-structured questionnaire. Descriptive analysis such as, number and percentages, was used. Multiple regressions used in order to explore the relationship between the income and other factors. Both qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques were utilized. Women perception index (WPI) was measured using rank ordered approach. The findings showed that there has been significant change occurred with the livestock rearing activities which are 116.79% after adoption in new technology. According to this study, male are involved in decision making in the following activities as reported by the respondents: sale of produce (84%), purchase and repair (78%), weed control (70%), land preparation (76%), spraying (65%) and planting (51%), where women respondents reported that they are mostly involves in harvesting 89%, processing 81%, manuring 48% and weed control 59%. Our research also shows that 78% and 73% of men have owned small equipment and thresher, Ox-plough, and power tiller where women own only 21 percent, 2 percent, and 5 percent respectively. It is evident that the perception regarding farming with adoption of new technology attain highest score and 2nd highest ranked perception is technical training on technology, similarly the 3rd ranked occupied is adoption in HYV where last rank score on use of indigenous technology. It means that most of them prefer modern technology in terms of productivity. The experience on modern technology of respondents has a positive coefficient and it was 0.492. Given these facts, our research has explained what keeps women’s rates of modern agricultural technology adoption low.
