ABSTRACTAmong the many species with adaptations necessary for survival in the mangrove are community macroalgae Bostrychietum, which can be fixed in trunks or pneumatophores, for example. The mangrove Itacuruçá (Mangaratiba/RJ) was divided into three areas (A, B and C), which was collected the material for classification. There were two collections (summer and winter) and compared their biomass and distribution along the mangrove. This study revealed that the influence of the weather provides the development of these algae, total biomass was considerably higher in the summer than in the winter.Kyewords
