Resumo O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar as interpretações do livro Empresário Industrial e Desenvolvimento Econômico, de Fernando Henrique Cardoso, encontradas na literatura sobre empresários no Brasil. Mais especificamente, pretende-se mostrar como os autores que vieram depois de Cardoso leram a atuação política dos empresários industriais em sua obra. O artigo busca oferecer também uma interpretação alternativa da obra do sociólogo uspiano, desenvolvendo o argumento em duas chaves. Por um lado, são questionadas tais leituras sobre o empresariado industrial no Brasil, utilizando a própria obra do autor. Por outro, busca-se esclarecer seu método e a sua incompatibilidade com a leitura proposta por seus críticos. Isso tudo com o fito de mostrar que Cardoso apreendeu as determinações específicas da burguesia nacional e seu comportamento político, sem decalques estrangeiros.
Pretendemos, neste artigo, comparar as obras de Hélio Oiticica e Rubem Valentim, em busca de similitudes e diferenças entre elas. Sugerimos e exploramos, a partir dessa comparação, a ideia de que Valentim seria crítico ao tropicalismo de Oiticica. Ademais, aventamos, tendo em vista os trabalhos de ambos, a existência de dois caminhos para a antropofagia na arte brasileira.
