Palabras clave: amistad, comunidad, diálogo, inclinaciones naturales, persona, relación AbstractIn his Encyclical Letter Caritas in veritate Pope Benedict XVI suggests the convenience of a metaphysical study on the category of relation, as the proper way for studying the human international community considered as a family, in which interpersonal relations have particular relevance. Following that suggestion, this paper deals with both predicative and transcendental relations, with the special importance and dignity of interpersonal relations, and with global solidarity based in the natural inclinations of the human person.
AbstractTheoretical knowledge is characterized by the disinterested seeking of truth without an immediate ulterior purpose, contrary to practical knowledge, whose immediate aim is to guide human action. Disinte restedness in the seeking implies freedom in the knower, who is committed only to truth; thus, the characterization of theoretical know ledge as liberal knowledge. In a mediate way, the contribution of li beral knowledge is highly valuable for human and social life, and is projected through education.
