AbstractThis paper documents a unique pressure transient test conducted prior to start-up of the largest onshore oil field discovery in North America in the past decade. In March 2000, a multi-well interference test was initiated to enhance understanding of field scale reservoir continuity, permeability, fracturing and injectivity. Testing began eight months prior to 'first oil' involving eleven development wells. This inventory of completed idle development wells prior to field start-up provided a unique opportunity to pulse test a 'silent' reservoir.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
